HC Gives Speaker 90 Days To Rule On Defections

The Hyderabad High Court directed Telangana Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary to dispose of the defections petition of the TDP within 90 days.
Hyderabad | 21st September 2016
The Hyderabad High Court today directed Telangana Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary to dispose of the petition seeking the disqualification of the TDP members who had defected to the ruling TRS, within 90 days.

The High Court passed the interim order on a petition filed by TDP leader A Revanth Reddy, challenging the Speaker's action in allowing the TDP leaders to join the TRS while sitting on the petitions seeking disqualification of rebel MLAs.

The TDP welcomed the orders of the court and demanded the resignation of minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav (who had defected from the TDP to the TRS) and other MLAs who joined the rival Party.
