The Supreme Court said that it would fix a particular date in case the Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker failed to take a decision on the Party defections case before November 8, and said that it would impose an anti-defection law and would disqualify the Congress and TDP MLAs who had defected to the TRS.
Responding to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Congress MLA S A Sampath Kumar, the Court directed the Speaker to take action against MLAs before November 8.
For those who came in late, 24 MLAs and three MPs from several political parties joined the TRS.
The Speaker's decision would impact even Andhra Pradesh politics as several YSR Congress Party MLAs joined ruling TDP.
