The Hyderabad High Court today served a notice to the Telangana Assembly Speaker for issuing orders allowing Telangana TDP MLAs to defect to the ruling TRS.
Recently, around 12 Telangana TDP MLAs had addressed a letter to the Speaker stating that they were merging their party with the TRS. Later, Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary issued orders approving the same. But other members of the TDP argued that the Speaker's orders were invalid as there was no such declaration of any consensual merger from the TDP's central leadership.
Admitting the petition filed by the TDP leadership, the High Court heard the case on Monday and served a notice to the Speaker.
The court then adjourned the case for two weeks.
