Congress MLA T Jagga Reddy today slammed the state government over the intermediate first year exams results.
Commenting on 2.35 lakh of the 4.5 lakh intermediate first year students who appeared for the exams failing, he demanded the government immediately to take a decision to pass the failed students.
Addressing a protest held before the office of the Board of Intermediate Education at Nampally, Reddy said that the intermediate students of the state had been facing a lot of problems for the last two years due to the negligence of the state government, and that the entire education system in the state had in fact been destroyed due to the negligence of the government. He said that while all students had been declared passed in many states of the country keeping in view the Covid-19 pandemic, the Telangana government did not do so despite even suicides by many students, showing its utter apathy.
Claiming that all those who failed belonged to government colleges, he said that government college students could not attend the classes due to the pandemic, and that the state government did not provide internet facility to these students, while private college students cleared the exams as they had attended online classes. That showed that it was the government's fault that the failures happened, he said.
