The TPCC asked why the CM, who had earlier demanded official celebrations of Telangana Vimochana Dinotsavam on September 17, was not in favour now.

Asking why the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who had earlier demanded the then chief minister K Rosaiah for official celebrations of Telangana Vimochana Dinotsavam on September 17, was not in favour of the celebration, TPCC official spokesperson G Niranjan alleged that KCR was telling cock and bull stories about the issue.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, Niranjan showed clippings of KCR's demand in the past.
He alleged that the Chief Minister was trying to keep the Muslims away from the mainstream by saying that there was no clarity on September 17.
"It is ignorance on the part of the Chief Minister to say that communal disturbances will arise in case the government celebrated September 17 as Telangana Vimochana Dinotsavam," he said.
"The Karnataka and Maharashtra governments are celebrating the day officially," he said, and alleged that not organizing the day would amount to questioning the Indian sovereignty.
He also said that only those who opposed Hyderabad as an integral part of India opposed the celebration of September 17, and asked if KCR had joined them.
"Kasim Razvi opposed the unification of Hyderabad with India. Does KCR want to become an heir of Kasim Razvi?" he asked.
He demanded that the TRS leaders, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and politburo members either mount pressure on KCR to celebrate September 17 or dethrone KCR to fulfill the wishes of the people in this regard.
