Congress leaders from the Telangana region will conduct an "Indira Rath Yatra" across the region to thank AICC president Sonia Gandhi for taking a favourable decision on Telangana formation.
At the Assembly premises, Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao informed the media that the "Indira Rath Yatra" will be launched in Amangal of Mahabubnagar district on Thursday. The yatra will continue in Mahabubnagar district till January 5. The same yatra will be held in Medak from Jan 6 to 10, and in Nizamabad district from Jan 11 to 14.
VHR also condemned Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for taking away the portfolio of Legislative Affairs from D Sridhar Babu and allotting it to S Sailajanath. Stating that the formation of Telangana is inevitable, he described the Chief Minister's action as a sign of his dictatorial attitude.
The Congress MP said that the people of Telangana would pray for the growth and prosperity of the people of the Seemandhra region and their new capital. He hoped that the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh would conclude in a peaceful and amicable manner.
He also condemned YSR Congress party president Jaganmohan Reddy, sarcastically saying that his permanent address would be "Chanchalguda Jail" as there would be "no lotus, no pond" in future. (INN)
