Rajya Sabha member and senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao on Sunday met the Chief Minister K Rosaiah at his residence in Balkampet, to discuss the
stories against the Congress high command being carried out by Sakshi.
The meeting comes in the wake of Sakshi TV airing a bulletin alleging that the image of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi was waning across the country.
In the meeting, the 2 senior Congress leaders reportedly discussed the matter of leeping Jagan in check. The 2 leaders are also believed to have discussed the fallout on the Congress party if the high command initiates action against Jagan.
Talking to reporters over his deliberations with the CM, VH expressed concern over the anti-Sonia and anti-Rahul remarks aired on the channel.
"If the former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy were alive, he would have cried after seeing such adverse reports in his own newspaper and channel," he said.
VH earlier said that the newspaper had carried a series of articles against Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy, Congress senior leader K Kesava Rao and himself, thereby maligning the image of party.
"Now, the media house has dared to carry a hateful campaign against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi. If the high command had initiated action against the Kadapa MP in the initial stages itself, this problem would not have cropped up at all," he opined.
VH asked the CM and the high command to initiate action against Jagan, and the newspaper and the channel. He asked the well-wishers of the Congress party to shun viewing the channel and stop reading the newspaper for its vilification campaign against Congress leaders.
