Senior Congress leaders of the state today exhorted the people not to opt for the LRS and pay money.
Congress MLA T Jagga Reddy asked the people to stay away from the scheme. He said that the people of the state were already suffering a lot due to Covid-19, and did not need an additional burden now for no rhyme or reason.
He also said that the Congress would regularize the plots of the people of the state without collecting any fees from them when it came to power in the state.
He alleged that the TRS was already trying to fill up its coffers through the Kaleswaram project, and that the revenues from the LRS were a new ploy to do more of the same.
He also accused KCR of manipulation, claiming that the CM was looting Rs 1 lakh from the people after giving Rs 5,000 under the Rythu Bandhu scheme.
Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy too made similar statements. He alleged that the state government was forcing the people of the state to suddenly regularize plots that they had been de facto owners of for 30 to 40 years, and termed the LRS GO a dark GO.
He also alleged that all of KCR's and KTR's pronouncements urging the people to pay money for the LRS were a massive publicity stunt, and that the father-son duo were expecting an income of Rs 3 lakh crore through the LRS, with Rs 1 lakh crore from Ranga Reddy district alone.
He said that he had already filed a PIL on the LRS in the High Court, and that the Congress would fight on the issue across the state.
He too urged the people to not apply for the scheme, and said that the Congress would regularise all the plots anyway once it came to power.
