Jostling took place between the police and Congress leaders under the leadership of Greater Congress Chief M Anjan Kumar Yadav when the police arrested several of the latter when the latter tried to lay siege to the GHMC office.
The police first blockaded the Congress activists in the MLA Quarters by locking the gates, which led to serious arguments between the police and the party's activists. That led to the police arresting the Congress activists at MLA Quarters and shifting them to the Narayanaguda police station.
Speaking at the police station, Anjan Kumar Yadav alleged that the condition of the roads was atrocious in Hyderabad. "Both Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao are giving empty assurances for the development of Hyderabad. They promised that they would transform the city into Dallas and then into Istanbul, but have done nothing. The roads are good only before the Chief Minister's residence. And the government is arresting people if they stage protests," he lamented.
Leader Of Opposition in the Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir alleged that democracy in the state was being killed by the TRS government. He said that he heard that a woman underwent delivery in an auto when she was going to the hospital due to the bad roads and that that incident clearly showed the condition of Hyderabad's roads.
TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, who visited the Narayanaguda police station along with Shabbir Ali, also alleged that the roads in the city were full of pits.
