The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) today refuted Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao's claim that the Congress was working under the directions of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, and alleged that the minister's claim was a just conspiracy theory.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan along with official spokesperson Indira Shoban, TPCC Vice-President Mallu Ravi reiterated that the Congress and the TDP were two different parties that followed parallel political ideologies.
In fact, Ravi said, TRS boss and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had praised Naidu on the Pattiseema lift irrigation project (integration of the Krishna and Godavari rivers).
"KCR praised the AP CM for Pattiseema, but kept mum on the submergence of seven mandals of Telangana under AP's Polavaram project," he alleged.
He also alleged that the two "ideologically polarized" CMs were suddenly not opposed to each other and were providing cover to one another in the note-for-vote scam and the illegal phone-tapping case.
He also pointed out that the TRS had contested the 2009 elections in alliance with the TDP, before suffering defeat.
"These incidents clearly show that it is not the Congress but the TRS and the TDP that are working in tandem for mutual benefit. And no one knows why this sudden shift in Party dynamics has occurred," he claimed.
