Hyderabad | 27th August 2020
Firebrand Congress leader Satti Vijayashanti today expressed her anger over the "failure" of the state government in containing atrocities against the women of the state.

Reacting to the recent mass rape of a woman in Nizamabad on her Facebook account, she said that the crime had pained her a lot.

She lamented that the rape took place a stone's throw away from the district Collectorate.

She added that the death of an orphan at an Ameenpur orphanage had already created a sensation in the state, and that this rape had come had come in quick succession.

She said that the law enforcement department of the state was failing to have any impact on the perpetrators of crimes against women, and that the "tall promises" being made by the rulers of the state over preventing the atrocities were turning out to be mere writings on water.

Targeting CM KCR on the issue, she asked him to at least try and understand the insecurity being felt by the women of the state.
