The police have made significant progress in dealing with the reported rape that took place in Hyderabad's Gandhi Hospital recently.
After
apprehending four suspects involved in the assault of two sisters, it has now questioned a security guard, Vijay, about the incident.
It is being reported that during the investigation, Vijay confessed to being involved in the shocking incident and to having raped one of the two women as well.
Talking about the case, the police informed the press that they were finding more details on the alleged rape. Further, the police have also revealed that they found CCTV footage showing one of the women walking with Vijay on the day of the incident. Currently, they are investigating whether she went with him voluntarily or was forcibly taken away.
"We are trying to get a clear picture of what happened using CCTV footage and enquiries. The culprits will soon be produced in court," they have stated.
The two women, from Mahabubnagar district, had accompanied a relative to the hospital on August 5 as he required treatment for kidney problems. After the necessary checkups and treatment, he was discharged on August 13. It was in these eight days that the sisters went missing.
The hospital has been getting immense bad press ever since one of the sisters alleged that a lab technician, Uma Maheshwar, and some security guards had detained and raped her and her sister.
Meanwhile, the woman's sister, who had been missing for the past few days, has been located. She was found in the Himayatnagar area. She too will be questioned soon.
Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud and Telangana Women Commission Chairman Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, who had visited the hospital, have said that serious action will be taken against those guilty of the crime.
