T-Congress Demands All-Party Meeting On Swine Flu

Accusing the government of hiding the real facts on the spread of swine flu across Telangana, the Congress asked for an all-party meeting immediately.
Hyderabad | 2nd January 2015
Accusing the State Government of hiding the real facts on the speard of swine flu across Telangana State, the Telangana Congress on Friday demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao convene an all-party meeting to discuss the issue immediately.

Speaking to media persons in the Assembly premises, Congress MLC M S Prabhakar claimed that there were at least 10 deaths due to swine flu, and hundreds of others were also affected by the disease. However, instead of being realistic, the State Government was trying to escape from its responsibility by issuing misleading statements through the Director of Health and Family Welfare Dr P Sambasiva Rao.

Further, Prabhakar alleged that the government hospitals were not equipped to handle the swine flu cases as they lacked trained staff and the required medicines.

Accusing the government of trying to play with the lives of common people, he demanded that the government stop the blame game.

He said that the Director's accusation that private doctors were creating fake panic among the people regarding swine flu amounted to an insult of the entire medical profession.

He expressed regret that the State Government was not willing to accept the reality even after the death of at least 10 people due to swine flu.

He urged the Chief Minister to convene the all-party meeting at the earliest. (INN)
