CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka today asked noted social activist Anna Hazare to break his silence on the Delhi liquor scam allegedly committed by the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
Speaking to media persons at the Assembly media point, Vikramarka alleged that the Kejriwal government, which had come into power by claiming to be the moral successors of Mahatma Gandhi, had brought disrepute to the entire country by committing the liquor scam.
He asked why Hazare was still silent despite the occurrence of such a big scam by his own proteges.
Welcoming the decision of Kejriwal to make Deputy CM Manish Sisodia quit after his arrest in the scam, he however said that the entire cabinet of Kejriwal and the CM himself were also responsible for the scam as his cabinet had approved the liquor policy, and demanded that Kejriwal answer the people of the country on the issue.
Targeting BRS MLC K Kavitha for her comments after receiving the notice of the ED, he asked how the liquor scam was related to the people of Telangana, and how the ruling party could link the liquor with the self respect of the people of the State.
He alleged that the ruling party leaders were trying to gain political mileage by inciting the emotions of the Telangana people, and urged the people to see through the political games of the BRS leaders.
Targeting the union government, Vikramarka said that there was no doubt that the BJP-led union government was misusing the IT department, the CBI and the ED to harass the leaders of opposition political parties, but that the liquor scam did not fall in the category of harassment.
