Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday assured that his government would ensure the overall development of the Telangana State.
Speaking after taking salute at the Ceremonial Parade at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, KCR described the formation of Telangana as its people's victory.
He paid rich tributes to those who laid down their lives for the statehood cause, and praised people from all walks of lives who participated in the struggle.
He made a special mention of the employees for their active participation in the movement.
He said that the Sakala Janula Samme provided momentum to the struggle, which resulted in the formation of Telangana.
KCR assured that his government would address and resolve the concerns of the people in the new State. He promised a transparent, corruption-free and effective government.
He recalled the major promises that he had made during the recent elections, and vowed to fulfill them. He announced the Telangana Special Increment for the employees, besides assuring them that their pay scales would be taken on par with those of Central Government employees. He also promised health cards for all the employees, and said that the promises made to pensioners, beedi workers and other sections too would be fulfilled, with about Rs. 1 lakh crores to be spent on various welfare measures.
The Telangana Chief Minister said that his government was waiving farm loans up to Rs. 1 lakh as promised earlier.
He assured that the new housing scheme too would be implemented soon.
He reiterated his resolve to eradicate unemployment and illiteracy, and to make Telangana a power-surplus State in the next few years.
KCR promised to make Hyderabad an international city. Making a mention of the ITIR project, he said that several global players were keen to invest in Hyderabad.
However, he said that peace and proper law and order in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and Cyberabad region were essential to draw global investments. He said that nearly 10,000 CCTV cameras would be installed for round-the-clock surveillance.
The Chief Minister stressed upon better policing. He advised policemen to maintain a friendly relationship with the people. He promised to introduce police reforms wherein all policemen would be entitled to weekly offs and other facilities including special medical allowance.
He said that the mobility and communications equipment of the police force would be upgraded.
KCR said that the TRS Government would maintain a good relationship with the Centre. (INN)
