The state leaders of the BJP today called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi.
Union Minister for Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy, state BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, former ministers Eatala Rajender and D K Aruna, MP Dharmapuri Aravind, and former MPs Garikapati Mohan Rao and A P Jithender Reddy were among the leaders who met the Home Minister.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal also took part in the meeting.
The meeting was held in the chambers of Amit Shah in the Parliament.
Shah congratulated Eatala Rajender for his victory in the Huzurabad by-election. He then reportedly gave pointers to the Telangana party leaders on how to face the TRS leaders and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
He asked the state party leaders to counter the allegations levelled by the TRS leaders against the BJP by taking up programs that would keep them in the minds of the people of the state, specifially telling them that they should take up more activities on the lines of state party president Bandi Sanjay's padayatra.
He also asked them to expose the "false" stand of the TRS over the paddy procurement issue and effectively answer the questions posed by KCR on the issue, and also expose to the paddy "scam" committed by the ruling party leaders.
He further asked the leaders to expose the "corrupt" acts of the CM, and demand an inquiry over them.
Shah later spoke with Bandi Sanjay separately for 15 minutes. He reportedly told Sanjay that he would tour Telangana for two days, and asked him to plan for it.
