My Phone Tapped By KCR Government: Bandi

BJP candidate from Karimagar Bandi Sanjay Kumar today alleged that the previous government led by former CM K Chandrashekar Rao tapped his family members' phones and his own, illegally.

Speaking to media persons at the BJP Telangana office, Sanjay alleged that the phone-tapping took place in Sircilla.

"During the interrogation, the phone-tapping-accused Radha Kishan Rao revealed that my phone was tapped at the behest of former CM KCR. The present CM Revanth Reddy and I were the main victims of phone tapping," he claimed, and said that a police officer had come up to him and told him that the phones of his family members and staff were tapped along with his phone.

"The SIM card I used was simulated with another SIM card and all my phones were tapped. Vehicles were placed near a petrol pump near my house and a temple to tap my phone. Even before the Assembly elections, ex-DCP Radha Kishan Rao and former SIB chief Prabhakar Rao stayed in Karimnagar and tapped our phones. Radha Kishan Rao stayed in room no 314 of Pratima Hotel and tapped my phone," Sanjay alleged.

He also claimed that the police tapped the phones of the Congress candidates from Peddapalli and Ramagundam along with his, and that they seized money in raids based on the tapping inputs.

"When all this came out, the KCR family entered into a dark deal with a minister in Karimnagar. The minister is acting in accordance with the advice given by the KCR family," Sanjay added.

Sanjay also alleged that the accused in the phone-tapping case Prabhakar Rao ran it with the help of his relative. He alleged that Prabhakar Rao's son-in-law Ashok Rao was conducting economic transactions for the Lok Sabha elections. He also claimed that Prabhakar Rao was the main reason behind the ticket for Karimnagar Congress candidate Velichala Rajender.

"Rajender has nothing to do with the Congress. He is not an activist and never participated in movements. Prabhakar Rao brought Rajender Rao to the fore starting from the Assembly elections. Crores of rupees were given to the Congress candidates contesting in Assembly constituencies in the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency through Rajender Rao. Congress leaders who look after the affairs of the State were also given crores of rupees," he alleged.

He asked if the Congress leadership did not know about these developments. He also asked the State government why no action was initiated against KCR even after Radha Kishan Rao's statement that the phone-tapping was done on the orders of KCR.

He also claimed that attempts were being made to dilute the phone-tapping case. He said that like in the cases of drugs, the Miyapur lands and the TSPSC paper leak, a conspiracy was being hatched to close the phone-tapping case too.

Sanjay also said that in every instance where he was fighting on people's issues, the Congress and the BRS were attacking him as part of their conspiracy, and that just like KCR in the past, Revanth Reddy was targeting him personally.
