Telangana BJP president Dr K Laxman today called upon the youth to re-dedicate themselves to realize the "Nava Bharat Nirman" pledge of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing the youth on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda's 150th birth anniversary celebrations at Kothakota in Wanaparthy district, Laxman asked the youth to be cautious against the disruptive forces bent upon dividing the country on the basis of caste, religion and region. He said that the youth should come forward to strengthen the cause of Prime Minister Modi, who, he said, was relentlessly striving to provide the nation with corruption-free governance and transparency in public works.
Addressing another meeting of unemployed youth (Nirudyog Garjana) at Wanaparthy later, the BJP state chief alleged that Telangana CM KCR had deceived the youth in the state by failing to keep his election promise of providing one lakh government jobs. He lamented that it was unfortunate that the TRS government had not taken proper measures to fill the vacant posts in the state government despite three and a half years of its rule, and promised that the BJP would continue mounting pressure on the government until all vacant government posts were filled.
He also slammed the TRS government for not encouraging job growth in villages, and accused KCR of providing political jobs to the workers from his party by appointing them in the farmers' coordination committees.
Laxman also alleged that by appealing to the minorities and limited sections of the population, the KCR government was taking a leaf out of the MIM approach of using vote bank tactics for political mileage.
BJP floor leader in the Telangana Assembly G Kishan Reddy, too, exhorted the youth to imbibe the spirit of Swami Viveknanda whose ideals he said were relevant even today.
Meanwhile, as part of the Swami Vivekanada jayanti celebrations, the BJP Yuva Morcha organised a "Walk For Swami Vivekananda's Ideals" from the Dr Ambedkar statue at the Tank Bund, to Swami Vivekananda's statue, also on the Tank Bund.
Gundagoni Bharat Goud, BJYM state president, and A Vinay Kumar, BJYM Hyderabad president, participated along with others.
