Demanding that the Congress make its stand clear on the introduction of the Telangana bill in the budget session of the Parliament, Telangana Lecturers Forum members on Tuesday began a hunger strike at Guddi Malkapur, Karwan.
Talking to media persons, the Lecturers Forum President M Ramulu demanded that the Congress members should mount pressure on the Central government to table the bill.
Telangana Jugruti President K Kavita threatened the Centre of serious consequences if it failed to introduce the Telangana bill.
Kavitha sought the cooperation of all employees so that the non-cooperation movement starting from February 17th was a huge success, and the government buckled down under the pressure and took a positive decision on carving out a separate Telangana state.
She told that the Congress party should not test the patience of the Telangana people, and should immediately announce formation of a separate state in the Parliament.
Kavitha also thanked the people of Telangana for extending their cooperation in the struggle for a separate state. She hoped that the dream of the Telangana people would become a reality soon.
