Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari today informed the House that the State government was in favour of private universities in the State as they would bring in investments.
The Deputy Chief Minister was replying to the queries raised by members on the Private Varsities Bill and Teachers Recruitment Bill during the Question Hour. However, Srihari, who holds the education portfolio, stated that the Bill might not be introduced during the current session.
Private universities would bring huge investments to the State and the government would certainly encourage them, he promised. Since private varsities did exist in 24 States, Telangana would follow suit.
