After the recent arrest of Keesara Tahsildar Nagaraju while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.2 crore to settle a land issue, another corrupt revenue official fell into the net of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of the state.
ACB officials caught the superintendent of the revenue department in Ranga Reddy district, Venkateswar Reddy, accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant to do an official favour.
Reddy demanded a Rs 15,000 bribe from the complainant to settle a 15-acre land issue in Tondupally village of Shamshabad mandal.
The accused had already received Rs 10,000 as bribe from the complainant on Wednesday, and was caught by the ACB officers today while receiving the remaining amount.
The ACB sleuths have launched simultaneous raids at the residences of the accused and his relatives.
Meanwhile, the ACB has intensified its investigation in Tahsildar Nagaraju's case. It has written a letter to the income tax department seeking the details of the currency caught by it during its raid.
