Nagam To Intensify Telangana Struggle
Former Telangana TDP Forum Convenor and TDP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy calls for a public meeting in Nagarkurnool on May 9th to intensify the Telangana agitation.
Public Accounts Committee Chairman and former Telangana TDP Forum Convenor Nagam Janardhan Reddy today called for a public meeting on 9th May to reinforce the agitation for a separate Telangana state. The meeting would be held in Nagarkurnool, Nagam's Assembly segment.
The TDP leader, who is alleged to be a party rebel by his colleagues, further urged TDP MLAs to support his struggle for the formation of Telangana by inviting him to hold public meetings in their respective segments.
He also revealed his plans of starting an office to carry out his struggle for a separate Telangana.
Commenting on recent media reports of rift a between the TDP and him, Nagam said that the reports were not true, and called the media "irresponsible" for floating such rumours. "I am entitled to the freedom of organizing programs parallel to the party activities," he said.
Nagam's plan to undertake a "Bus Yatra" as part of the Telangana agitation, was foiled when his party leadership demanded that he cancel it.
Earlier, on Friday, Nagam had stated that he would not campaign for the TDP in the Kadapa by-elections, and had urged other Telangana leaders to follow suit.
