Hundreds of citizens, including a large number of students and young software engineers, bid a tearful farewell to Srinivas Kuchibotla, who was killed in a shooting incident in Kansas City of USA on February 22, as his funeral rites were performed at the Jubilee Hills Mahaprasthanam on Tuesday afternoon.
The coffin containing Kuchibotla' body was brought in a special flight from the US on Monday night. His wife Sunayana Dumala and brother accompanied the body as it was taken to his house at Behrampet.
Several people, including relatives and friends who had come from distant places, made a beeline to the house to have a last glimpse of the young engineer, who became an unsuspecting victim of a hate crime.
Parents of Kuchibotla and Dumala were inconsolable.
After the religious rites at the residence, the mortal remains of the deceased were taken in a procession in a bedecked vehicle to the Jubilee Hills Mahaprasthanam for cremation.
