Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, on Saturday, demanded that the state government create a separate ministry for the promotion of Telugu.
Addressing a meeting of the Telugu Rakshanana Vedika at NTR Trust Bhavan, Naidu accused the state government of neglecting the promotion and growth of Telugu.
He said that although the central government has sanctioned a research centre for Telugu, the state government was not providing land for it.
He demanded that a separate ministry be created in the government for the focused growth and development of Telugu.
Naidu also appealed to the youth to strengthen their ties with the language. He said that the youth must not ignore the importance of Telugu while learning English or other foreign languages. (INN)
