10 days ahead of the prestigious event, the Telangana CM visited the L B Stadium and later held a meeting where he unfurled his full wish-list for it.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today instructed officials that L B Stadium, the main venue for the World Telugu Conference to be held from December 15 to 19, should have, besides literary and music programs, food courts, a book exhibition, stalls, a handicrafts sales emporium and exhibitions by the archeological department.
He also wanted decorations both inside and outside the stadium, and cut-outs of Telugu literary giants inside it.
At a review meeting on the preparations to be made for the conference on Monday at Pragati Bhavan, the CM said that the literary and music programs should not be restricted to L B Stadium, but should also happen at Ravindra Bharathi, the Ravindra Bharathi mini theatre, the Ravindra Bharathi preview theatre, Telugu University, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Lalitha Kala Thoranam and the Indira Priyadarshini auditorium.
The Chief Minister said that Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu would be coming for the inaugural, and the President for the valedictory function, and both these programs should be held at the L B Stadium. He wanted parking and traffic arrangements to be meticulously done.
KCR also wanted a full-day musical program on Telugu film songs, and a documentary reflecting the Telangana lifestyle, attires, culture, arts and festivals.
Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari, minister Thummala Nageswara Rao, MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, DGP M Mahender Reddy, Sports Authority Chairman Venkateswar Reddy, Principal Secretaries Sunil Sharma and Burra Venkatesham, Sports Authority MD Dinakar Babu, Sahitya Academy Chairman Nandini Sidhareddy, Secretary Narasimha Reddy, City Police Commissioner V V Srinivas Rao, R&B E-in-C Ganapati Reddy, Cultural Affairs Director Mamidi Harikrishna, CM Special Secretary Bhoopal Reddy, OSD Desapathy Srinivas and others attended the meeting.
Earlier, the CM had also visited L B Stadium, and examined the preparations being made there and offered some suggestions.
