TDP Seeks Dismissal Of Health Minister Laxma Reddy

TTDP general secretary Nannuri Narsi Reddy said that the minister should be sacked from the cabinet for his involvement in real estate business.
Hyderabad | 22nd December 2017
Telangana TDP general secretary Nannuri Narsi Reddy said that Health Minister C Laxma Reddy should be sacked from the cabinet for having accepted that he was involved in the real estate business despite being a minister.

"Under constitutional law, ministers were barred from conducting business outside during their tenure. How can a minister involve himself in lucrative businesses outside when he took an oath not to while being inducted in the cabinet?" he asked.

He further sought to know how when a government doctor was prohibited from private practice, it could be fair for a minister to undertake any business activity that had a component of profit in it.

Having real estate business interests while being part of the cabinet would affect the functioning of any minister, as the real estate business was connected to various departments, he said.

He therefore said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao should immediately drop Laxma Reddy from the cabinet and order an inquiry into his real estate business deals.
