Terming the "Save Democracy" slogan by YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy as ridiculous, TDP official spokesperson Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad said there was no need for the TDP to lure MLAs of other Parties when it has a strength of 108 legislators in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly.
Speaking to the media at NTR Trust Bhavan on Monday, Dokka alleged that Jaganmohan Reddy had failed to save his MLAs, and was taking his MLAs on a North India excursion in the name of a Delhi tour as a desperate move to prevent more defections.
"Jaganmohan Reddy should understand that just by taking his MLAs on a tour he cannot save them, because legislators will take a decision keeping in view the developments in their constituencies," he said.
He said that the 13 MLAs who had walked out of the YSRCP had openly stated that there was no democracy in the YSRCP. It was unfortunate then that Jagan was crying "Save Democracy", Dokka quipped.
