TDP Protests In Narasaraopeta Continue

TDP leaders and workers squatted on the roads and yelled out slogans denigrating the police for "unlawfully" arresting Kodela, who was "only protesting against malpractices perpertrated by ministers."

Protests continue in Narasaraopeta, Guntur district, against the "illegal" detention of TDP leader Kodela Siva Prasada Rao. Kodela had been brought to the prison on a stretcher yesterday, after he had been admitted to the hospital as he had fainted during the pandemonium there. TDP cadre there have taken to the roads and commenced on a "rasta roko", which required further police intervention.

A bandh was declared in Narasaraopeta, which had been going on peacefully throughout the day, until protests by TDP leaders started. Party leaders and workers squatted on the roads, and yelled out slogans denigrating the police for "unlawfully" arresting Kodela, who was "only protesting against malpractices perpertrated by ministers."

Echoing the mood in Narasaraopeta, TDP leaders in Macherla have also started a "rasta roko".
