In protest against the arrest of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, BRS leader and former minister Motkupalli Narasimhulu staged a protest at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad today.
He held his protest from morning to evening, and demanded that the AP government release Naidu from prison immediately.
Speaking on the occasion, Narasimhulu, who worked as a minister in the TDP government in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh and later joined the BRS, criticised AP Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for "indulging in vendetta politics against Chandrababu Naidu and sending the TDP president to jail".
He also found fault with the AP government for arresting Naidu two years after the FIR was registered in 2021.
The BRS leader demanded the immediate release of Naidu from jail and unconditional apology by Jagan to the people.
Chandrababu Naidu was arrested on September 10 in connection with a Rs 371 crore corruption scam in which he is accused of masterminding a conspiracy to divert money meant to train unemployed youth, when he was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
