TDP Leaders Want Hyderabad As Country's Second Capital
TDP senior leader Somireddy Chandrasekhar Reddy demanded that Hyderabad be made the second capital of the country, and regretted the proposed bifurcation of AP.
TDP senior leader Somireddy Chandrasekhar Reddy on Saturday demanded that Hyderabad be made the second capital of the country.
Addressing a press conference at the NTR Trust Bhavan here, Somireddy said that the idea of making Hyderabad the second capital of the country was originally mooted by Dr. B R Ambedkar.
He said that all leaders, across party lines, should make a representation to the President of India Pranab Mukherjee during his stay in Hyderabad itself, to press for this demand.
However, Somireddy said that the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh would cause immense damage to both the regions.
He also sought the intervention of the President in addressing the concerns of the people from the Seemandhra region with regard to the bifurcation. (INN)
