Telugu Desam Party MLA B Durga Prasad, on Wednesday, appealed to the state government to provide job security to employees working in Jagathi Publications Limited, the company whose accounts were seized by the CBI as part of its investigation into Y S Jagan's alleged disproportionate assets.
Talking to media persons at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party Office, Durga Prasad said that the government must consider providing job security to employees and journalists working in the Sakshi Group on the lines of software firm Satyam.
He said that the freedom of press must be protected during the crisis, and appealed to the management of Sakshi not to press panic button and confuse employees and affect their morale.
Durga Prasad said that the management must not pressurise its employees to stage dharnas and protests against the government.
"Such pressure tactics would not yield results, and would further damage the image of Sakshi," he said.
He also asked why the CBI did not arrest Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy despite having submitting 3 chargesheets in court naming him as the number one accused in the assets case. (INN)
