Telangana TDP floor leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao today urged Governor E S L Narasimhan to call for the winter session of the Assembly to discuss various important issues of the people.
In a letter addressed to the Governor, Errabelli stated that since Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was not concentrating on the people's problems and not even attending the Secretariat, "You (Governor), as the constitutional head of the State, should issue orders to convene the winter session of the Assembly."
Errabelli stressed the need to discuss various problematic issues that the State was facing, and specifically mentioned the widespread drought. He said that the State government had delayed sending the drought report to the Centre leading to the State not getting Central assistance in time. The farmers were facing problems in getting insurance due to the delay in their loans getting rescheduled.
He also added that employees and workers of Nizam Sugar Factory had been thrown on to the roads by lay-offs.
Pointing out that the previous TDP government used to hold Assembly sessions for 53 days every year, Errabelli said that the present government was convening the session just perfunctorily. The TRS government had convened Assembly sessions for 21 days this year and was not convening a winter session, he added.
