The Telugu Desam Party, on Monday, demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy withdraw the remarks that he had made in Visakhapatnam, stating that
the state was in trouble since he had taken his oath at an inauspicious time.
Talking to reporters at NTR Trust Bhavan, senior TDP leader Varla Ramaiah said that the Chief Minister was trying to escape his responsibilities by blaming the stars.
He said that instead of giving a progress report on his achievements in the last 16 months as the CM, Kiran Kumar Reddy was trying to blame priests for selecting a wrong time for his oath-taking ceremony.
Demanding that the CM withdraw his comments, Ramaiah said that Kiran Kumar Reddy had ended up criticizing his own government through such a statement.
He described Kiran Kumar Reddy as "the weakest Chief Minister the state has ever had since its formation in 1956".
Ramaiah also questioned the CM"s silence over the corruption of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
He alleged that Kiran Kumar Reddy was not criticizing Jagan due to the secret pact the latter had with the Congress High Command. (INN)
