Cine star Nandamuri Balakrishna did not rule out the possibilities of him being offered the post of the Chief Minister of the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh if the TDP was voted to power.
Speaking to media persons after filing his nomination from the Hindupur Assembly constituency in the Anantapur district, Balakrishna said that he was willing to accept the post of the Chief Minister if the party asked him to.
He expressed confidence that the TDP would come to power in both the Telangana and the Seemandhra regions.
He asked all members of the Nandamuri family including Junior NTR to campaign for the TDP candidates in the ensuing elections.
He also promised the creation of an NTR District.
He said that Hindupur had a huge potential for growth due to its proximity to Bangalore, and massive industrialisation would change the face and fate of this backward constituency.
Addressing a road show, Balakrishna promised to make Hindupur the best constituency in the State. He also promised to construct a Basvatarakaram Cancer Hospital in Hindupur.
He said that he was not contesting the elections to get any posts or power, but to work for the people's welfare.
Earlier, Balakrishna, along with his family members, reached Bangalore this morning and went to Hindupur by road. Before filing the nomination papers, he conducted prayers at the Suguru Anjaneya Swamy temple. (INN)
