Modi Addresses Public Meeting In Warangal

The Prime Minister took to bashing the Congress on reservation for Muslims among other things.
Hyderabad | 8th May 2024
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that Warangal city had a good relationship with the BJP.

Addressing a public meeting in Warangal today as part of his election campaign, Modi said, "40 years ago, the BJP had only two MPs. One of them was MP Jangareddy from Hanumakonda."

He added that Ahmedabad was his karmabhoomi, and the deity of the city was Bhadrakali, who was the deity of Warangal too.

Modi described Warangal as a symbol of the glory of the Kakatiya empire.

Moving then to Congress-bashing, he said whichever State the Congress came to power in, became an ATM for the party.

He said that ever since the Congress came to power in Telangana, the State's coffers had been empty, and asked where the money had gone. He alleged that in Telangana the people were being looted through the RR tax. "One of the double R taxes goes to Hyderabad, and the other goes to Delhi," he said.

He also alleged that thousands of crores of scams took place during the earstwhile Congress rule in the country. He also said that B R Ambedkar had made it clear that reservations should not be given on the basis of religion, but that in Karnataka, BC reservations had been reduced to give reservations to Muslims.

He claimed that the Congress wanted to implement similar reservations in Andhra Pradesh as well, and that with these politics of the Congress, the OBCs would suffer a huge loss.

"The Congress will stop giving reservation to Madigas. But I have not forgotten about my promise to the Madigas," he said.

Modi said that the Congress was against the SCs and STs too. "The Congress is afraid of the development of SCs and STs. When we came to power in 2014, we made Ram Nath Kovind the President of India. Then in 2019 Draupadi Murmu, who belongs to an adivasi tribe, was made the President. But both these appointments were strongly opposed by the Congress," he said.

"For a long time, I did not understand why the Congress prevented Draupadi Murmu from being made the President of India. But after that, the real thing was understood. Draupadi Murmu's skin colour is black. The prince here has a friend, philosopher and guide in America. He recently said that all those whose skin was black are Africans. This means that the Congress may have considered Draupadi Murmu to be an African because of the colour of her skin. That is why the Congress must have thought of defeating her," he alleged.

He also claimed that when the Centre approved the Sammaka and Sarakka Tribal University bill, the Congress put up hurdles to its passage.

"The Congress is also know for breaking promises. It announced that it would waive off the farm loans in Telangana on party leader Sonia Gandhi's birthday, but has now changed the date to August 15," he added.

"The BRS is also doing appeasement politics. In 2014, KCR had announced that a dalit person would be made chief minister. But he didn't do that," Modi added.
