During his campaign in Nagarjuna Sagar for the upcoming by-election in the constituency, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today asserted that the TRS candidate, Nomula Bhagat, would surely win the elections.
Talking to the media, he claimed that the TRS candidate was already getting a lot of support from the people of the region as they wanted him to continue the work of his father, late Nomula Narsimhaiah, the former MLA.
"Since the previous MLA of Nagarjuna Sagar, late Nomula Narsimhaiah, served the people to the best of his abilities, the people want to honour him by voting his son, Nomula Bhagat, into power," the minister said.
"Our party has roped in Bhagat to fight for the seat against the Congress' K Jana Reddy despite the candidate's relative inexperience since we believe that he is the right choice. Elections must be fought on the candidates' ability, and not on the basis of their age or experience alone. We believe Nomula Bhagat will be able to serve the people well. Further, they are happy with the many welfare programs implemented by our government, and are, therefore, more inclined to vote for our candidate," he added.
Yadav has repeatedly expressed his belief that the voters of the area will be
inclined to vote for Bhagat since he is the son of the previous MLA, Nomula Narsimhaiah, whose
untimely passing has necessitated the by-election.
The TRS's choice may well work in its favour as the youth of the constituency may see in the young candidate a dynamic leader, especially as many are already commenting on Jana Reddy's
unsuitability for the role citing the septuagenarian's age.
