Politician Y S Sharmila, who is the daughter of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and sister of incumbent CM Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, today congratulated Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his party's
grand victory in the recently-concluded Nagarjuna Sagar by-election.
(The TRS won the seat with a comfortable lead of over 18,000 votes.)
Taking to social media, Sharmila congratulated the CM, and added that she was congratulating the TRS for the Nagarjuna Sagar by-election victory.
The leader said that the CM, without caring about the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, had "tasted victory" by conducting the by-election in the constituency despite the rising case figures.
Making a demand the Congress has been making for some time now, she urged the CM to include the treatment of Covid-19 in the list of diseases covered by the state's Aarogyasri scheme to mark the happy occasion.
The leader is often very critical of the TRS government - most recently, she had addressed a gathering of more than 5,000 people in Khammam last month, where she
flayed the TRS regime for its failure to work for the people of Telangana. So, her latest message to the ruling party is bound to leave many surprised.
