Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister Srinivas Yadav, who was today campaigning in Nellikallu on behalf of the TRS' candidate for the upcoming Nagarjuna Sagar by-election, Nomula Bhagat, lashed out at the Congress' candidate for the seat, K Jana Reddy, yet again.
Yadav slammed Reddy for seeking votes for the April 17 election "without having done anything" for the development of the constituency, and criticised the latter for his "failure" to develop the region despite having a four-decade-long political career.
"The Congress has been unable to address the water shortage problems in Nellikallu even though it was in power several times in undivided Andhra Pradesh. It is only after the TRS has come to power in Telangana that the problems are finally being resolved. Soon, the region will enjoy access to a stable water supply system through the Nellikallu lift irrigation project. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is the one who is bringing development to Nagarjuna Sagar," he maintained.
Continuing his tirade against the senior leader, the minister then urged people to vote for the TRS' Nomula Bhagat claiming that a vote for Bhagat would be a vote for development.
He added, "Nomula Bhagat will win the by-election despite Jana Reddy's furious campaigning. The welfare schemes implemented by the KCR government will win us the support of the people who benefit from the same. Nobody will vote for an elderly candidate like Jana Reddy, especially since he was unable to work for the people despite having been an MLA seven times and a minister for 14 long years. Everyone knows that the Congress only hinders progress, and therefore will think twice before supporting the party. They will instead help our candidate carry forward his father's legacy and work."
