The Hyderabad Traffic Police's enforcement drive against drunken driving will add on an element of surprise from now on, in terms of locations and timings.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police on Tuesday announced that its enforcement drive against drunken driving will add on an element of surprise from now on, in terms of locations and timings.
The traffic police has claimed that its special drives have been successful so far. During the special drives taken up on November 25 and 27 at various places in the twin cities from 10pm to 1am, the police arrested a total of 185 drunken drivers.
They include 58 drivers of 4-wheelers, 120 of 2-wheelers and 7 of auto-rickshaws.
On November 28, the errant drivers were produced in the IVth Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Nampally, and the magistrate imposed fines up to Rs. 2,500 and suspended their driving licenses for 3 months. (INN)
