Former minister and staunch YSR family loyalist Konda Surekha stated, on Monday, that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has no moral right to point fingers at the wealth of Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Talking to the media at the Media Point in the Assembly premises, Surekha alleged that the TDP leader has resorted to making baseless allegations against Jaganmohan Reddy since he was unable to withstand the popularity of the Kadapa MP.
The former minister pointed out that Naidu had come to power the first time by backstabbing his father-in-law NTR; and for the second time, the TDP had to take the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party to come back to power.
However, people of the state gave a fitting reply to Naidu, who had a tie-up with all parties except the Congress, by rejecting his leadership and voting YSR to power, she claimed.
"Such a corrupt and backstabbing leader has no moral right to criticize YSR," she stated.
Surekha also recalled how the Basavatarakam Trust owned by NTR family members had violated rules and regulations and grabbed lands for the construction of a cancer hospital at Banjara Hills.
Surekha condemned Naidu for speaking about YSR after the latter's death.
"It is not a good trend to speak against the late leader and make allegations of corruption," she said.
The former minister also stated that it was not proper for Naidu to make such "cheap" allegations aginst propery belonging to YSR's family.
Surekha also condemned the
attack by members allegedly belonging to the TRS on Naidu's convoy, and sought their unconditional apology for the incident.
Surekha asked Praja Rajyam Party leader K Chiranjeevi to withdraw his comments against the Osmania University Joint Action Committee. Chiranjeevi had stated that TRS leaders were resorting to blackmail and demanding money for the release of
Komaram Puli starring his brother Pawan Kalyan.
