Seeking to extending their moral support to the people's general strike called by Telangana activists, the TRS' students' wing on Sunday called upon students to organize a series of agitations across the Telangana region.
The students' wing leaders, in a meeting of district in-charges held at TRS Bhavan, decided to intensify the agitation from 22 August to 29 August.
The students will mount pressure on the elected representatives to submit their resignations for the cause of Telangana statehood.
On 23 August, students will organize processions of effigies of elected members who have not submitted their resignations.
They said they will write letters to the Prime Minister, appealing to him to direct the state government to lift all police cases pending against students in the region on 25 August.
On 27 August 27, Telangana students will stage dharnas in front of District collectorates and Revenue divisional Offices, and submit memorandums seeking action on "police highhandedness".
They will then sit for a hunger strike on 30 August, seeking the support of all sections of people for their general strike. (INN)
