Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha today sparked political buzz by hinting that she might name her new political party after the original Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
Speaking to the media, she said that the "TRS" title is now free to use, implying that anyone was at liberty to adopt it, and that she would soon launch a party with an "old name and a new agenda".
She said that adopting the same name for her political party would work in her favour by tapping into public sentiment and garnering widespread support.
Kavitha asserted that her party would follow the ideology of late Professor K Jayashankar, and took a swipe at the BRS, calling it dormant.
The possible revival of the TRS name - once central to the Telangana Statehood movement - has triggered speculation across political circles.
