The State Election Commission, on Tuesday, permitted the School Education Department to issue notifications for the Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET).
The SEC said that since TET was just an examination and not essentially a recruitment process, there was no problem in issuing the notifications.
Previously, the state government had sought the SEC's permission in view of the forthcoming Gram Panchayat elections.
As per an earlier notification, the applications for the TET examination were scheduled to be received from July 15, while the examinations were to be held on August 25.
However, as was last heard, the School Education Department was planning to reschedule the exams. (INN)
