Asserting that the late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had implemented all his pre-election promises after coming to power, YSR Congress party leader Sharmila assured that Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will also implement all his promises and re-establish the "YSR Welfare state" after coming to power.
Addressing an impressive gathering of people at her road show in Nuziveedu, Krishna district, on Wednesday, Sharmila asked people not to believe the fake promises being made by TDP president Chandrababu Naidu.
Naidu is a big liar and enjoys unleashing false and impractical promises. In fact, he never remembers his promises. Indeed, if there were enough people willing to listen and to believe, he would go so far as to claim that he is the person who had built the Charminar and dug the Hussain Sagar, she said, amidst thunderous applause.
Coming down heavily on Union Minister Chiranjeevi, she said the actor had sold out his PRP to the Congress for the post of a Union minister, thereby, betraying the belief of the people who had voted for him.
She also had similar things to say about Chandrababu Naidu, Congress dared to divide state because of Naidu's support. In fact, there is no difference at all between Naidu and Chiranjeevi. Both are the same kind of people.
Reiterating that YSR had looked beyond regions, religions, castes and political parties, and had worked for the development of all sections of people during his regime, Sharmila reminded everyone that YSR had also aimed to provide irrigation water for one crore acres of land through the Jalayagnam scheme.
She also added that while Naidu had provided loans to women and farmers at one rupee interest, YSR had made them available at only 25 paise interest.
Sharmila said that while the power tariff had been hiked several times during Naidu's regime, YSR had implemented all welfare schemes successfully without hiking the prices of LPG, seeds, fertilizers or electric power.
Lakhs of poor students had also benefited from the fee reimbursement scheme implemented by YSR," claimed Sharmila
"By the time Naidu was ousted from power, the state had already gone down from the third to the fifth position in the list of developed states as he had cut dozens of PSUs into pieces and had gifted them away to his people. During YSR's regime, software exports from the state had gone up to 14 per cent from 9 per cent," she observed. (INN)
