The stage is set for the inauguration of the newly constructed Telangana Secretariat, on Sunday.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will arrive at the Secretariat at around 1 pm and take part in the rituals and special pujas. Later, he will unveil the plaque, and occupy the chair in his chambers on the sixth floor and sign files to formally launch the commencement of administration from the new Secretariat.
According to officials, instructions have been issued to the ministers and others not to accompany the Chief Minister when he occupies the chair. In fact, the Chief Secretary, ministers and other officials have been directed to occupy their chairs in their respective chambers between 1:58 pm and 2:04 pm.
Meanwhile, elaborate arrangements are in place for the inauguration of the new building. Director General of Police Anjani Kumar along with senior officials inspected the security and seating plans for the inauguration ceremony. Accompanied by City Police Commissioner C V Anand and other officials, the DGP went around the Secretariat premises and issued directions on the parking, security and seating arrangements. Specific instructions were issued to officials to ensure separate entry and exit passages for ministers, MLAs and other VIPs.
