The gap between the Raj Bhavan and Pragathi Bhavan is widening by the day, and the accusations between them continue. The latest fracas is around the issue of the new Secretariat inauguration.
Refuting the allegations made by minister Jagadish Reddy that the Governor had deliberately skipped the inaugural ceremony of the complex despite an invitation being extended by the State government, the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday said that no invitation had been extended to the Governor.
"The Raj Bhavan vehemently denies the baseless and false allegation that an invitation had been extended to the Governor for the inauguration of the new Secretariat building by the State government, and that in spite of the extension of the invitation the Governor didn't attend the program," a press release issued by the Raj Bhavan said.
"The Raj Bhavan further makes it clear that no invitation whatsoever had been sent to the Governor inviting her to the inauguration of the new Secretariat building, and that this has been the precise and sole reason for her non-attendance at the inauguration of the new Secretariat building," the release added.
