"Srisailam Project Is A Telangana Project"

Congress Legislature Party secretary Jagadishwara Reddy on Wednesday condemned some Seemandhra leaders for bringing up the Srisailam Project to prevent the division of Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to reporters here, Jagadishwara Reddy said that the Srisailam Power Project is not a Seemandhra project, but a "total" Telangana project.

"However, the project will cause no harm to the interest of the people of any region, and if such a thing happens, then the people of Mahabubnagar would not allow such injustices," he said.

He added that the name of the Srisailam Project is being dragged into the bifurcation debate only to stall the ongoing process of the Telangana formation.

He said that such controversies won't stop the Telangana state's formation, and that the new state would be a reality in the "new year". (INN)
