Help For Aged Haj Pilgrims
The State Haj Committee has announced that a special passport counter will be opened from April 19th, at 2pm, to cater to the Haj pilgrims who are over the age of 70 years.
A special counter will be opened at the Regional Passport Office from April 19th, at 2pm, to cater to Haj pilgrims who have submitted the application forms to the Haj Committee and are over the age of 70 years.
State Haj Committee Chairman Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed said that most of the cases have already been settled, and that only 84 applicants under this category haven't been issued the passports yet. The eligible applicants have been intimated over phone, the Haj Committee Chairman pointed out.
Khaleeluddin Ahmed further said that a fresh counter will be opened later for those who apply after 15th April.
G Mahboob Peeran, Executive Officer of the Haj Committee, has requested all Haj pilgrims who fall under the above-mentioned category to bring with them one duplicate copy each of their respective passport forms, and also copies of all necessary documents.
He has also requested applicants to bring copies of the "Cover Number" issued by the Haj Committee. (INN)
