AP Chief Minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu today said that some more political leaders, who wanted to be partners in the development of Andhra Pradesh, were going to be joining the TDP.
Speaking at the party workers' meeting at Vijayawada on Tuesday, Naidu said that some more leaders were expected to join the ruling Party soon.
"Such developments often occur in politics. We will welcome those who believe that the TDP can develop the State into a Navyandhra," he added.
In a bid to allay the concerns of the current leaders, he assured them that they would not face any problems if other leaders were joining the party.
"The present strength of 175 MLAs seats will be increased to 225 soon, so many more people can be accommodated. For me, the Party is more important than my own family, and everybody should share the same attitude, and work with the interests of the Party in mind," he emphasized.
Some leaders from the East Godavari and Srikakulam districts joined the TDP in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu, who warmly welcomed them with Party shawls. Former MLA Baggu Laxman Rao from the Srikakulam district and Boddu Bhaskar Ramarao's son Venkatramana from the East Godavari district joined the TDP. Venkatramana had contested on a YSRCP ticket for the Rajahmundry Lok Sabha constituency in the last election, and was defeated.
