Communist Party Of India floor leader Julakanti Rangareddy, on Friday, stated that his party would move an adjournment motion in the House, urging the government to take steps to solve the drinking water problem in drought-affected mandals in the state.
Talking to media persons at the Assembly media point, Julakanti said that even though the government declared 874 mandals as drought-hit about 3 months ago, it failed to take adequate measures in those mandals.
He said that the CPI would mount pressure on the government to release at least Rs. 3 crore to Rs. 4 crore for each mandal, to tackle the drinking water problem.
The CPI leader slammed the main Opposition party, the Telugu Desam Party, for not taking up a discussion on the issue, and for giving the liquor scam higher priority, only for political mileage. (INN)
